It is important to remember where food comes from, that the nutrients we need, comes from nature; land that feeds us from seeds, herbs, plants. It is important to remember that the water we need comes from our ecosystems working among our land, filtered through our rivers and streams. It is important to remember where we've been and where we are now. Aboriginal people lived in communities that thrived through living in harmony nature while celebrating their lives through music and dance, celebrations of their culture. Since they were encountered by explorers, they have endured hardships, while striving to maintain a remembrance of their culture, identity and sacred connection to the land. Although the cityscape of modern day has brought us a world of technologies, art and culture that can be appreciated, it is important to allow ourselves the time to learn about indigenous cultures. Understanding their culture was interfered with and they went through pain is an offering of respect. Remembering that their way of life of respecting each other and living off the land, in harmony with nature is to offer respect for their culture and learn that we too need to remember who we are through recognizing our connection with the land, and respect for the diverse cultural identities of the world. Our world is a world of diverse peoples, expressed and shared through diverse cultures. The remembrance and appreciation of all cultural identity offers ourselves experience to enjoy traveling and celebrations of festivals. Through recognizing our shared experiences of life evolving and cultures merging, we can appreciate technologies of modern day that allow us to experience our diverse culture and heritage, - yet we live with respect and reverence for nature. This included interacting with them at drum circles, and asking them questions about what they gained from learning at the farm. I am passionate about sharing awareness of the importance of maintaining our natural environment, knowing where our food comes from and therefore living natural, healthy lifestyles. + my fav. community project Many of them were enjoyable and appreciated however a memorable one was 'Night Quest' at Pacific Spirit Park. This was an event for families, where there were activities that inspired appreciation for nature, our environment, and inspiring the desire to dream through fairy tale characters roaming the park and a light show to wrap up the evening. It was inspiring to see children having the opportunity to explore mother nature through an event that brought people together to have fun while learning. +ambitions and 10 yrs from now: I love to experience and capture awareness of culture so I can create artistic communications; such as films, to share what I have experienced through my journey of appreciating cultural diversity. I love vancouver for offering me such opportunities to explore and share what I understand. ==== I would say that all cultures come from diverse backgrounds, with each generation being influenced by the perspectives, beliefs and values that were passed down from the people that lived before them. Through understanding our evolution we can learn to 'unfilter' our perspectives, so we can move beyond the opinions we have been taught through growing up in a society that has attempted to tell us what is right or wrong. In regards to understanding an ideal of human perfection, religion, or philosophies have attempted to explain how we can live our human potentials and they often started because of a revelation of someone who sensed a spiritual experience. An enlightening experience of what you may choose to call, human perfection. Through the time and culture it was experienced in, people attempted to explain it, define it,... in doing so, restrictions of the experience or explanations -became institutionalized. Also, the writings of these perspectives and experiences were written by a few, and the stories recorded were often translated through word of mouth. Either way, for some people, for some religions, this has left a feeling of superiority of, 'ours is the way' even thought the original message has perhaps been misunderstood, forgetting the spiritual connection of the original revelational experience. In my understanding, there are many ways to describe spiritual understanding, and each person can explore various philosophies and traditions that they feel works for them. Through my research into heritage and culture, I have come to understand that as we evolved from peoples who lived off the land, to peoples who began to record art and writings, consciousness was able to be shared and recorded, sometimes melded to fit pursuit of power for some people. With the technologies of an information age, the gap between a human ideal of perfection, related to hatred is ever closing, because people are able to learn about the diverse cultures of the world, and understand that although there are differences among beliefs or traditions, there is a commonality for peoples of all cultures to try to explain a supernatural understanding of who we are, a way of living life as 'human perfection'. To close the gap of hatred among what may be perceived as conflicting beliefs, we can recognize that that which may make us different, does not need to divide us. We can appreciate our cultural diversity. Through sharing information of each of our cultures and traditions, we can unfilter biased perspectives of the past (ex, one religion feeling they are 'the way', for really, there are many descriptions of explaining a sense of the 'sacred', we can now choose for ourself.) The evidence of philosophies such as yoga, arevedic medicine, natural healing of chinese medicine, and remembering shamanism of aboriginal peoples - being brought to streets of modern societies, shows that the world is uniting, able to move beyond conflicting perspectives. Various ethnicities and peoples have grown along with the traditions of their cultures and heritage, often being carried through philosophies, music, art and oral story telling. in physical form, meditation, angel invocations and attunements and
energy work are some extremely valuable methods to assist us in this.
For example using meditation, we can more closely align the body with
the soul by visualizing a bridge of light sometimes called the rainbow
bridge connecting the two. This bridge allows the soul consciousness
to bring light into the body and personality. This is what Ascension
really is, the merging of the soul with the personality while in the
physical. We come here to experience, to express as individuals, as ideas in the
mind of God. The soul's main concern is that we remember who we are
after coming through the veil of forgetfulness. An actor auditions for
a part in a play knowing that he will really enjoy playing a
particular role. The role may be intense, it may call for high drama
as well as joy but the experience of playing all aspects of the part
excites him. The high drama and sorrowful aspects of the
characterization are balanced by the actor's knowledge that it is a
part, it is not who he/she truly is. Though the actor is fully
engrossed in the performance he remembers his identity. Though it is
said he becomes the role, though he may win an Oscar, he never forgets
who he truly is. We must never forget our true identity as a soul.

The True Passage Home On the New Moon of May 24, 2009 A Message from The Council of Light through Rebecca Couch Beloved ones, there is so much to do and yet there is only one thing that is important in it: that you remain in your sacred heart centered on love. It sounds easy, and it doesn't have to become your life’s great effort, when it is just your choice in every moment that creates the unified outcome. And so it is - especially when you least expect it - the answer. There is a great quote “Love is the answer. What was the question?”



This is the key when you have forgotten your True Self and are in frustration or anger or judgement or impatience or fear or pain: connecting with your heart centre that is the passageway to your higher self, your I Am Presence, your greater divinity and to the higher realms of the divine that you are. Anything outside of this is illusion created in order to return you in that direction. That’s all. You need only focus on this one intention to clear the path of life’s obstructions…weeds, branches, stones, debris…that have cluttered the path. Clear it and keep it well trodden, for this is the end of the maze!



Beware of anything that pops up to spook you along the path. Be aware of your own ego’s folly. Beware of those little entanglements that preoccupy you in minutia. Be aware of your physical body’s transmutations that can dispel, distract or dramatize you. Their best purpose is to guide you back home; a homing beacon to remind you to come back here not stray out there. The pain will cease when the beacon doesn’t have to sound so loudly to get your attention. When you can only look back from the other side, the body’s pain callings will dissolve along with the need for any other external dependency, distraction or disillusion. While there are many paths, there is only one opening to your truth and you will have found it!



And what miraculous expansion awaits you on the other side of the doorway? You will just have to go there to find out, but it is promised to be unimaginable on this side and unnecessarily describable on the other. It just is the best isness there is.



So what are you waiting for?  More sticks and stones and thorny vines to keep you from that beautiful garden?  It is time to remove them once and for all and to make the true passage home.
